A good website navigation~ trick to get more visitors!!!

A good Website Navigation System is one of the most important factors while designing a website.
Most of the web surfers who generally come to the website in search of certain information are impatient. If the navigation system of your website is not good enough, there are chances of them bouncing back from your website. Having bounced back from your website, they might reach your competitors website and you may end up loosing your potential client. It is therefore important for you to structure your site in such a way that the visitors can easily locate all the desired information quickly.

Website navigation system should be well constructed, user friendly, consistent and interactive. When you are planning the navigation for your site, you should remember some key points:

1. Link the logo to the website homepage.
2. User should be able to reach the homepage from any page within the web site. Reaching all major site sections can only help them to find the desired information.
3. Use tabs like about us, products and services, contact us, site map etc. on the top and bottom or left and right side of your web page and link it to the other pages of your website.
4. Some important navigation tools like internal and external links, breadcrumbs, log in box, download-able items etc should be incorporated in the site as per requirement.
5. A thumb rule for good web site navigation is to keep the number of clicks from one page to another at maximum 3.

To ensure that the web navigation system for your site is perfectly alright, you can consult with a web design company that will rightly guide you in maintaining a user friendly website.

Static Website Design

In a static website, the web pages are stored on the server in the format that is sent to a client web browser. This is primarily coded in HTML. These kind of websites generally presents the predefined, static information to the user. So, they are suitable where updating of products or services are not required.

HTML pages are “static” in the sense that the code – the page in its HTML format – is sent to the web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) as it is. The HTML appears to the browser exactly the way it was written by the programmer. After the browser gets the file from the server (the Internet computer holding the HTML files), it reads the code and displays the page. No ‘thinking’ or decision making is done by the server or the browser.

The summary of serving a static page goes something like:

  • The request is made by the visitor of the website
  • The server locates the file requested
  • Server sends the requested file(s) back to the browser
  • Browser reads the HTML and displays the web page

The benefits of a static website is –

  • These sites are more SEO friendly.
  • Affordable price at construction phase.
  • Easy to test in the development stages.
  • Best suited for small businesses.

Maximum professional web designing companies recommend static websites to their clients with small business who do not have a very high budget.

  6. Insert the content into the website. The content must reflect business purpose.
